You may be familiar with the Miami-Dade police department (MDPD) if you are a fan of the TV show CSI: Miami but an officer from the real MDPD made the news this week. The officer in question, who is due to retire next week, was caught on camera transporting two mattresses on the roof of a patrol car with a passer-by snapping the moment on the camera phones.
A spokesperson for the police department said that whilst police are allowed to run personal errands in their patrol cars, strapping mattresses to the roof of the car which means the rear of the car is dragging along the floor is not allowed. Luckily the incident isn't likely to have any effect on her retirement.
