Whilst this blog is about sleep advice, places to buy a cheap memory foam mattress and bedroom decor advice, I had to post this news story that has appeared over the last few days about a sofa company in Northampton that has come under fire from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
The Sofa King company has been trading for 10 years using the slogan “The Sofa King – Where the Prices are Sofa King Low!” but after 3 complaints after an advert in a local free newspaper. Due to this, it’s been ruled that the advert is “likely to cause serious and widespread offence. The company is looking to challenge the ruling though and personally I say good luck to them.
Whilst the slogan may hint at a swear word, it is nothing more than humorous wording then something to cause offence. It raised a smile on my face and that was it, it didn’t evoke any serious offence for me.
It’s been a lot of advertising for The Sofa King anyway.
