Different Sleep Patterns

It is essential for every human to sleep but not everyone follows the same sleep pattern. We are going to look at some of the relatively common patterns that some people sleep.

Monopasic
This is the most common type of sleep by far is monophasic sleep. This involves just the one sleep in every 24 hour period. Usually of a lenght of 7-8 hours for the average human. The rest of the day is spent awake.

Biphasic
This is another fairly common sleep pattern that involves a slightly smaller main sleep of around 6 hours with twenty minute power nap at some other point during the day. Alternatively you might have a 4 and a half hour main sleep and a ninety minute nap later in the day.

Everyman
There are a few variations of this sleep pattern. A main sleep of around four and a half hours with two twenty minute power naps, a three hour main sleep with three twenty minute power naps or an hour and a half main sleep with four or five twenty minute power naps.

Dymaxion
This sleep pattern involves no main sleep and four 30 minute naps during the day, once roughly every six hours.

Uberman
Similar to the sleep pattern above this one has no main sleep but just six twenty minute naps, roughly every four hours.

These last two sleep patterns without any kind of main sleep are obviously fairly uncommon but they are used more often than maybe you would think. Whatever sort of sleep pattern you have you will definitely get a better sleep on a memory foam mattress.
